It's never too late to .... Come to Church and Make a Pledge
I like to think that the entire month of January is there for us all to make a fresh start. If your resolution was to attend more services at Christ Church and make a financial commitment to pledge this year and you just haven't been able to do either one - don't worry. You still have time. Bring your pledge of support when you come to one of our Sunday services - we have 2 Sundays left this month. Can't make Sundays? Then stop in on Wednesday mornings at 7 am for a quiet Holy Communion service. It will be the best 25 minutes of any Wednesday you've ever spent.
This message is a result of a question asked at our Annual Meeting last Sunday after the Stewardship Campaign report was given. The question was, can we expect to see additional pledges over the next few weeks? YES WE CAN! Make your pledge and come worship with us. We've missed you.

How We Support Our Community of Prayer
The Christ Church Family consists of about 125 households: young couples with newborns, parents with children in elementary school up through college and the armed forces, people at the peak of their careers, and retirees. One of our special joys is the inergenerational affection expressed at our Sunday services and Christ Church events.
Our core ministries are found in our prayerful worship, diligent formation, and loving service to each other and our neighbors. Some of the ways we share our ministries are through our various liturgies and music, Parish Aid and community outreach, and preaching, teaching and spiritual development and pastoral counseling. Our work mostly takesplace in our own facilities, built and maintained at our expense.
Our rector ministers to us at and away from the altar, helping prepare us to do God’s work in our congregation, our homes and out in the world. We have the responsibility to compensate him appropriately for his dedication and unique gifts. Two paid part-time persons, the organist/choir director and the parish administrator, assist him . The parish administrator has the important role of maintaining the wide variety of administrative and financial functions to keep the office and financial systems running smoothly, and managing ever-increasing parish hall functions. Our organist/choir director is essential to planning and leading the musical component of our many different services, including Sundays, Holy Week, funerals and other unique liturgies.
We are blessed to have among us energetic volunteers with myriad talents. Because they perform many tasks, we can avoid paying for some services. This has helped keep our expenses under control. However, we must shoulder the unanticipated as well as the recurring expenses all churches have. Consider that the cost of a single day of ministry and operations at Christ Church costs about $515.
As you plan your financial support for Christ Church in 2011, please consider making a pledge that’s the equivalent of paying the cost of one day, three days, a week or even more if you are able to do so.
